Answered Prayers

Today Emma and I headed to the doctor...again...for a cough that has not gone away.  While we were there the doctor let us know that all the tests from Monday came back negative!  Hallelujah!  The doctor explained that it was just a bit of bad luck that Emma had a UTI so young.  Us, bad luck, no way.  So today I am grateful for bad luck and for all the friends and family that have been praying for us.

Emma Update

Today was rough!  We got to Memorial Hospital at 9am and didn't leave until 12pm.  The first test took 40 minutes.  Forty minutes of Emma strapped down to a table, arms strapped above her head, legs strapped down to a board.  She screamed for the entire time.  I got to stand next to her on and off.  I sang songs to her, prayed for her, talked to her, anything to try and get her to calm down.  "Twinkle, Twinkle" and "Itsy Bitsy Spider" worked best.  After the first test we headed upstairs for her ultrasound.  Long story short we waited a VERY long time!!!  During the ultrasound I had to hold her down while she screamed and tried to get away.  That test took about 20 minutes.  Finally we got to leave.  I am exhausted, emotionally and physically.  Thanks for all your prayers.  I held up great until I got on the phone, then I lost it.  I'll let everyone know about the results once I have them. 

Pray for Emma

Tomorrow morning Emma is having some tests done at Long Beach Memorial Hospital.  They will be happening at 9:30am.  If you get a minute please say a prayer for her.  One of the tests will be pretty uncomfortable for her and I cannot stand beside her.  I know that it is going to break my heart.  I will update the blog (hopefully tomorrow) and let everyone know how see is doing.

My Prince Charming, Darrenn

Darrenn turned 40 today!  Last night we celebrated his birthday with some friends and family.  Thanks Christy and Dale for hosting at your amazing house. 

I always dreamed of marrying my prince charming.  I wanted a man who loved God, loved kids, made me laugh, did something for a living that made me proud, put his family first, had a sensitive side, was generous, hardworking, good hair, loved Disneyland, Republican, and of course loved me. 

At our last church, Life Center, I knew who Darrenn was (all the girls loved him) but did not know him personally.  Little by little we began hanging out and I began to fall in love with him.  I told my friend Lori, from CO, that I was going to marry him.  As he and I grew closer I realized that he was my perfect mate.  Fast forward a lot of years, we are married with two kids, endured some rough roads, grown closer to God together, and learn more and more about each other each day. 

There are so many reasons I love Darrenn.  I think the thing that stands out the most to me is that he is so sacrificial.  He gives of his time to everyone, me, Dylan, Emma, our church, his school, friends, just about anyone or anything.  Of course he still has great hair, makes me laugh, loves disney...you get the point. Darrenn rarely tells me no, he helps me around the house, at my job, with my crafts, takes care of my friends kids, supports our family, wears crazy costumes, notice him dressed as a crazy scientist above. I feel blessed that God gave me such a special gift.  I know that I don't always take care of him the way I am supposed to.  I also know that he loves me anyways, even with all of my faults. 

Thank you Darrenn for being the man that God has molded you to be.  Thank you for being an amazing dad, husband, and best friend.  I love you!  I look forward to many more birthdays together.

*On a side note...I am no where close to 40 :)

Cupcakes and New Kids

I love a lot of things.  Two things that bring a smile to my face are cupcakes and New Kids on the Block.  They bring a flood of great memories from earlier years. 

I had heard of a cupcake shop opening up in Long Beach (thanks Beth, Jessica, and Debbie). 
Debbie sent me the website today, YEA!!  Charmed Cupcakes here I come!

Earlier in the week I got a text from my sister Carrie.  She is in Washington DC and New York with some of her students.  She let me know that a BIG announcement was happening on the Today Show this morning.  I of course forgot but thank goodness for the internet.  Anyone want to go to New York in May with me?

One More Month

I just realized that Emma is eleven months old today.  Oh my goodness, I can't believe that I only have one month with her before she is a year old.  I try to live my life with my kids enjoying the stages they are in.  I try so hard not to wish that they were older or younger.  However, my baby is almost ONE!!!  I will enjoy these April days with her.  Enjoying her smiles, her cries, her kisses, her silly faces!  I will also be planning her very first birthday party.  It's not like I haven't been planning it in my head for the last...forever!
