I would really, really, really like this.  It could be my Christmas, Birthday, Valentines, Mother's Day present for forever.  It is in Castle Rock, Colorado where I would really like to live. 

Would anyone else like to come along?

Update:  Dreams Crushed...the house sold.  I guess Darrenn will have to keep buying me presents.

Living in a Fuzz

Do you ever feel like everything around you is fuzzy?  That is the kind of week I am having.  Many different things have contributed to this fuzz.  Some that I'll share and some that I can't.  The funny thing about this fuzz is that I didn't realize I was in a fuzz until people kept asking me if everything was ok.  Monday night I had Bunco at my house and just couldn't get it together before everyone got there.  Thanks Jen and Darrenn for helping me make it work.  While playing Bunco numerous people kept having to keep me on track.  Then yesterday I went to take Dylan to get his blood drawn, which we do every 3 months for the last 5 years.  I know you need a lab slip in order for them to draw the blood but I forgot it.  I have messed up my volunteer schedules too many times to count.  Taken an hour to try to find something for myself and Emma to wear.  It's been one of those weeks where Monday feels like Thursday. 

Different things have contributed to the fuzz, Darrenn and Dylan being gone last weekend.  Sunday being crazy without them there to help.  Too many events happening at my house this week.  A bible study needing to be finished by Friday and lots of food and desserts that have had to be made by me.  But the biggest ones have been things happening to people around me.  The latest was a terrible email from a close friend letting me know that her husband is having to go to jail for four years after a long drawn out court case that has been in the process for the last 7 years.   I hate that she and her family are going to be without their husband and dad for that long.  I hate that he will be in a place that is not safe.  I have to believe that God has His hand in all of this.  That He is going to use this man in jail to share about Gods love with people who have never experienced it.  If you have a moment please pray for my friends that are about to go on a long journey that is not one that they want to go on.

Thanks for letting me ramble on for a bit...sometimes this blog is my therapy.

Update:  I kept feeling like fuzz was not the word I wanted to us.  I knew it wasn't blur, then as I was driving and a girl almost killed Dylan, Emma, and I, it came to me FOG!  That was the word I was looking for.  I also just got back from taking Dylan to have his blood drawn for the second day in a row, with the lab slip in hand.  The technician takes the paper and asks, "Has he been fasting all day?"  Oops, NO!!  So we will be going back there bright and early on an empty stomach.

How are you making an impact?

Are you making an impact on a child's life?  I have many amazing Life Changers, aka volunteers, in our kids ministry at Revolution.  Of course we can always use more.  Two amazingly creative people at Revolution made this commercial to encourage people to make an impact on kids lives at Revolution.

Thirteen

Thirteen years ago on February 17th at 17:17pm God gave me an amazing gift, Dylan Andrew Platt.
He is an amazing young man who is creative, funny, kind, giving, helpful, intelligent, and very loving.  God has given him so many gifts and talents.  He is an amazing big brother, friend, student, Christian, and son.  Dylan is very passionate about a couple of things; Disney, Legos, and Art.  Anyone that has mentioned any of these topics has gotten an earful of information.  Dylan also has a great attitude about having diabetes.  I have never heard him complain about missing out on things, adjusting his schedule to fit in snacks and meals, giving himself injections and testing.  He is incredible. 

Every year I plan his next birthday party right after we finish celebrating the current one.  Last year we didn't have a big party in preparation for the big 13th birthday.  So I have been thinking of this for two years now.  I knew I wanted a limo involved.  So on Monday a group of 9 friends joined us at our house for a day of surprises.  None of the kids knew what was happening.  We started the morning playing video games and making frames.  Then the Hummer Limo arrived to pick us up.  We headed to Downtown Disney to do a mini scavenger hunt.  Then we went to McDonalds (dylans choice).  After lunch we drove around listening to music and watching Pixar shorts.  Dylan said it was the best birthday ever (he says that every year).  It was fun getting to honor him.  At the end of the limo ride we had a apple cider toast for him.  All of his friends said something nice about him, that was fun to hear.

I can't believe I am the mom of a teenager!  Pray for me.

Runny Noses

I have a runny nose and feel pretty crummy.  It would be helpful if I had this toilet paper contraption on my head.  It would save me a lot of time and inconvenience grabbing tissue after tissue.  The goal is to be better by Sunday since I need to teach our cute little ones and I don't want to get them sick.  Pray no one else in our house gets my germs.

I'm So Confused

For once in my life I am not passionate about a presidential candidate.  I have been listening in on friends conversations, staying pretty quiet, listening to lots of talk radio, and have only gotten more confused.  Rick Bambrick has a quiz on his blog that is supposed to show you who to vote for.  By my results I see why I am so confused.  I also took two different quizzes on the same site, I don't know why!

My first results were McCain 22.0, Mitt Romney 20.0, Mike Huckabee 19.0, Barack 8.0, and Hillary 5.0. The next quiz I got McCain and Huckabee with 58, Romney 53, Guilliani 37, Barack 15, Hillary 10.

Now I understand why I am so confused.  I still don't know what I am going to do on Tuesday.  My heart is telling me one thing and my head is telling me another.

NKOTB, Were you a fan?

I WAS!!!  I have been hearing rumors on tv that New Kids on the Block might be having a reunion!  I have been meaning to do a post on this and got inspired when I read Beth's Blog.  I went to youtube and got a couple of clips for true fans to watch.  My best friend Jennifer Manley and I were obsessed with them.  I used to have a huge box full of New Kids memorabilia. Don't worry though, Darrenn let me keep my Joey McIntyre doll and sheets.  If there is a reunion tour I will be the first one in line for tickets!
