Pirates Who Don't Do Anything Part 2

We had our Kids event a couple of weeks ago and it was a big success!  150 kids and adults met at the Long Beach Towne Center to watch "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" movie in our own private theater.  It was so cool to walk into the theater and see the whole top section and part the bottom filled with people you know.  I heard lots of laughing throughout the movie. 

The next morning at Revolution we had a pirate party.  We wore eye patches, got faces painted, ate cheese curls and drank root beer (thats what the veggie tale pirates ate), and sang pirate songs.  I overheard one little girl saying, "This is the best morning ever!". I love that.  We even had a special appearance by a pirate. 

A huge thank you to Tim, Michelle, Chandler, Regan, Darrenn, Dylan, Bob, Sara, and Tiffany for helping at the movie.  I'll let you know when we will be having our next kids event.

I love rolling dice!

I just got back from playing one of my favorite games...Bunco!  At one point in my life I was in three Bunco groups at one time.  I just love playing games, especially ones that involve the possibility of winning money.  I also love it because you get to be with a group of 11 other women.  Some of them might be strangers, some might be good friends but by the end of the night you feel like you have known them all for a life time.  The conversations change depending on who is sitting at your table each round.  Tonight we talked about kids, husbands, food, childhood memories, Life Groups, songs we sing in Blast Off, jobs, and secret sisters.  Sometimes at the end of the day after wiping bottoms, noses, doing homework, making dinner, and cleaning the house you need an excuse to get out of your house...Bunco is my excuse once a month.  I came home extra excited tonight not only did I win my $5 back (for most loses) we decided to have secret sisters in our group.  I love secret sisters, it's how I made one of my most special friends Kimberly Gibbs.  Everyone was giving me a hard time that I will go overboard.  I promise I won't I just love the excuse to get someone a special little gift, drop them a note, or say a prayer for them.  So if you are in my Bunco group and happen to read my blog.  Thanks for many fun Monday nights!  I cherish each one of you for so many different reasons.  I love all of your different personalities, the gifts you all have, your hospitality, and the laughs we have shared.  See you next month!

Terrible Tuesday!

Okay, so the title is a bit dramatic but I couldn't think of another adjective that started with a "T". 
My Tuesday has been very different from my Monday.  Went to work first thing this morning and didn't get to touch the things I needed to do.  Then came home tired but wanted to hold Emma for awhile before starting dinner (which I didn't want to cook).  The plan was to make the Chicken Nuggets and Mozzarella Sticks from the Deceptively Delicious Cookbook.  I started preparing everything around 3pm.  By 4:45 I was ready to start cooking it on my stovetop.  I won't bore you with all the details and calamities but we ended up eating grilled cheese and apple slices.  My trash is full of a lot of food that cost a lot of money.  I keep saying it's cheaper to eat out!  Dylan was so disappointed.  The kitchen looked like a bomb hit and I just finished cleaning up.  In the process of cleaning my sponge with the dish soap in the handle broke in pieces on the floor and took a while to clean up.  Oh yeah, and I don't have a babysitter for Life Group tomorrow night and I still need more people to come to our Veggie Tale Movie event. 

So as you can see it wasn't that terrible but just disappointing.  I had really hoped that the day would have gone better.  Hopefully tomorrow will so smoother.

Pirates Who Don't Do Anything

Revolution is having a great kids event this Saturday, January 19th at 10am.  We will be viewing Veggie Tales, The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything at the Edwards Cinema 26 at the Long Beach Towne Center.  We are going to have a theater all to ourselves.  It's not too late to buy tickets!  Email me, jenny@revolution242.com, and let me know how many tickets you would like.  They are $9 for kids and adults.  It is going to be a lot of fun laughing and singing along with our favorite veggies.

Then the next day we will be having a Pirate Party in some of our kids classes.  We'll be playing games, eating snacks, and talking about the movie. 

Monday, Monday

Contrary to all the songs sung about Mondays, I love them.  It is now my second favorite day of the week.  Let me give you a run down of my day.  Darrenn took Dylan to school which is always helpful.  Emma and I had our second gymboree class and had a lot of fun singing songs, playing with balls and bubbles, and making new friends.

Then I drove around dropping things off to people while Emma napped in the backseat.  We shopped till we dropped at Costco and Ralphs buying lots of healthy things for the family.  Made dinner (which is a miracle in our house) and pureed a lot of veggies.  I am going to start cooking some recipes out of the Deceptively Delicious cookbook.  I steamed, blended, and bagged everything from spinach to cauliflower.  My house is quite stinky! 

Stuck in the middle of all that was playing on the floor with Dylan and Emma and saying, "I Will" twice.  I love days where I am productive and still have time with my family.  Hopefully this is a great start to a great week.

Little People Part 2

I got some very sad news the other day when I was researching a summer adventure for our family vacation.

I have dreamed of taking a road trip up to Oregon to visit the Roloff Farm.  You may be wondering, who are the Roloff's?  They are only the best little people family on tv!  The Roloff's are the stars of their own reality show on TLC, Little People, Big World.  Their farm has everything from a western town, zip line, pumpkin patch, and so much more.  It is open to the public to buy produce and sometimes explore. 

When I went to their website to get more specific dates for our vacation I found out they are now only open in October.  That will not work for our summer vacation.  I am so sad!  I was really looking forward to meeting Matt and Amy and the kids.  I was hoping we would form a bound, they'd invite me in for a snack, then eventually want to be one of my friends.  They would visit us in California, the kids would swim in our pool, visit our church, go to Disneyland with me.  Now those dreams have come crashing down. 

Maybe Emma and I will have to do a girls trip in the fall....

Little People Part 1

For those of you that don't know we very well I love little people!

For the past couple of months we have been watching The Office with Tim and Michelle Lasch.  We are enjoying every moment, they even funnier than what people said.  The other night while we were watching an episode from season 3 and they referred to a dancing Indian midget.  We of course needed to find out if this was real.

Within moments Darrenn came across this video on youtube.

This made me love little people even more.

I am hoping that when the group of people from my church go to India in February they might be able to find this dancing little person and get his autograph for me.  Maybe they can even bring him back to America.
