Rick to the Rescue

I guess I sounded pretty pathetic in my last post.  A couple of people called and sounded concerned.  I am fine just a little overwhelmed.  One of the calls was from Rick Bambrick.  He offered to make Dylan a costume that he had made for Chandler and Ashley.  I hate accepting peoples help!  I don't like to be indebted to others. The moment I told Dylan about the offer I knew I was going to owe Rick big time.  Dylan was so excited.  He said that's what he really wanted to be but didn't think I could make it, I am not a sewer.  A huge thanks to Rick!!!  He has saved me. 

HELP!!!!

Halloween is almost here and I am not prepared.  My decor is still in the garage, our bug a boo booth has only begun, I only have 4 cars for trunk r treating, part of emma's costume has not arrived, Darrenn and I don't know what Wizard of Oz themed costume we will be but worst of all....Dylan has nothing. 

He would like to be either the Mad Hatter (thanks Regan) or the Wizard from the Wizard of Oz.  Any suggestions on how to put together one of these costumes.  I don't sew but I can be resourceful.

Or perhaps you have some other ideas for him.  Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Whatever happened to good, quality shows like this on tv. My good friend Kamrin sent my this amazing you tube video. Thanks Kam! What a great way to start the weekend off.

While the cats away the mice will play

Dave, Christina, and Christopher are all at Catalyst in Atlanta together.  So that left a few of us back at the Hub...alone.  Jen, Jessica and myself decided to send an email to them keeping them updated on the happenings back in California. Since the office can get a little crazy with everyone around we decided we needed a little R&R. 

We wanted to make sure that the work got done.  We found a willing person to take over our work load.

Accidents

This last week our family had a couple of accidents.  The first one was a fender bender in the suburban.  I was picking up Dylan from school and while we were heading out a very oblivious 18 year old rear ended me.  I had Emma and Dylan's friend in the car.  It was a really loud hit which didn't settle well.  Now I get to deal with insurance, mechanics, and renting a car.  Luckily everyone was safe and fine. 

Then on Friday Dylan had a day off and was out riding on his scooter with a friend and took a spill.  By Saturday morning his hand was swollen and bruised.  Darrenn took him to urgent card and Dylan came back with a splint wrapped in gauze.  He wore it until Monday, enjoying the attention it brought.  Everything looks fine, just a bad sprain.  He is still having a hard time using it.  Everyday it gets a little better. 

Hopefully this week will be accident free.

Lori from Colorado

One of my very bestest friends came to meet Emma.  This is Lori from Colorado.  Some of you have heard me tell stories about her and how much I want to move to Colorado to live in God's country. 

We had a great time doing what we do best, shopping and eating.  Whenever the two of us get together there is usually orange rolls, french onion dip, chips, and breakfast at Hof's Hut involved.  We did feel sick most of the weekend from all the junk.  We took an adventure out to the 909 to check out a shopping center I had seen off the side of the 15, Victoria
Gardens.  It was so much more than I had ever dreamed of.  It was blocks of stores and eateries that I love.  Cute places to sit and relax, pretty water features, and so much more.  I highly recommend checking it out. 

On of the reasons why I love my friend Lori is because I can be the real me with her.  We are two peas in a pod.  Our husbands our sometimes frightened at how many things we have in common, the good and the bad.  We can just sit and do nothing or shop all day.  She is an amazing mom and wife.  Her boys and baby on the way are blessed to have her.  She is dedicated, caring, beautiful inside and out, a true kindred spirit.  I wish we lived closer.  Especially now that we have kids around the same age.  I can't wait until we get to see each other again.
