Princess of Quite A Lot

AHHH!!!

There is a reason why I don't post many personal posts with pictures!  It is incredibly frustrating.  It takes forever to get a picture to load, then it won't let me move it around, the text won't move to where I need it...you get the picture.  I preview the post then try to fix it and it doesn't work.  When I look at my sister in laws blog it is beautiful (she also uses typepad).  So I am obviously doing something wrong.  I just needed to vent for a minute.  Hope you enjoy the pics of Emma just know it did not come out the way I had hoped.

Emma's Second Month

Emma's second month was full of many firsts.

• Attending Jamie's 30th birthday.  It was a "Friends" theme and Emma was "Emma Gellar". 
• Going to Disneyland for the first time.  Emma's first ride was Small World then Winnie the Pooh.  She loved every minute. 
• Meeting more new friends for the first time.  Having lunch with Julie Buzbee at Mi Casa was a highlight for her.
• Attending her first Vacation Bible School.
• Having her first "Plattco" dinner with the Sinko's at John's.
• Going to Seal Beach for dinner.
• Attending Nadar and Michelle Twal's wedding.
• Celebrating Father's Day with her daddy.
• Going to see "Ratatouille" with the Laschs and Trotters.
• Going to Rossmoor Park with some of the families from Revolution.

It was a very fun second month with Emma.  The time is flying by.  She went to her 2 month appointment and had her first set of shots, weighs 12 pounds, is in the 97% for height.  I hate that she is growing up so fast but she is doing so many new things.  She loves to smile, especially at her big brother. 

Who needs Veggie Tales...

when you have Little Marcy.  I was lucky enough to have a mom that introduced us to many christian children's artists.  Psalty the singing songbook, Kids of the Kingdom, Bullfrogs and Butterflies, Music Machine are just a few of my favorites.  But one will never escape my memory.  I don't know if it is her high pitched voice, her rendition of "The birdies in the treetop", or just the sweet memories of my best friend and I sitting around the record player laughing our butts off.  I hope you enjoy this little video that I found on youtube.  It is a pretty amazing place, you can find just about anything.  I can't wait to share little Marcy with my little Emma!

71%How Addicted to Blogging Are You?

While feeding Emma I decided to take one more fun quiz.  This one told me how addicted I am to blogging.  I am way more addicted to reading blogs than writing them, it's hard to post typing one handed (Emma's always occupying the other hand). 

I had never heard of blogging until I came upon David Trotter's.  From there the obsession began.  I read peoples blogs I have never met, I feel like I know people more than I actually do because of their blogs.  I read things on my friends blogs I had no clue about.  I am already a nosy person, I admit it,  so this doesn't help matters.  One thing I feel bad about is that I don't get to comment as much on blogs as I would like.  It's gotten tough typing with Emma in hand.  I know my obsession has gotten bad because I read the blogs on my phone whenever I get a spare moment, even in the middle of the night...SAD.  So I am happy with my 71%, it made me feel better.  So thanks a lot David Trotter!   

I'm a Disney Movie!

Thank goodness, I got a G Rating!  Being a Children's Director I would hope my blog is safe for kids eyes.  Thanks Bobby for the fun quiz.

Avalanche Ranch

Howdy folks!  Gather round as I share about our wild and crazy week of Vacation Bible School. 

Monday morning the kids were welcomed by our Registration Crew lead by my mom, Sara, where they received tshirts and name tags and were directed inside to meet their crew leader and crew mates.  While inside they decorated cowboy hats to go on their crew leader signs.  They turned out great. 

At 9:00 sharp (because I'm a freak about time) the kids and leaders headed into "Avalanche Ranch".  Jen Davies lead them in some hootin' and hollerin'.  Jen was amazing the kids loved all the songs and motions she taught them all week long.  Then in came Dakota Avalanche (Darrenn) and Bucky (Charlie) where they introduced themselves and had the kids laughing with them and at them the rest of the week. 

The rest of the morning was spent traveling around different centers.  They visited crafts lead by Lynelle and her amazing team.  They made everything from prayer journals to cowboy hats.  Out in the parking lot they played games lead by Darrenn and Bob.  They had a great time playing all the crazy games.  Laura and Kari Ann lead our Bible Adventure time.  Each day the two of them dressed as different bible characters that took the kids back into bible times.  This is one of my favorite things because the kids get to see and feel what it was like.  They also get to have some question and answer time in their small groups.  Chadder's Theater is one of the favorites of the kids, which was lead by Paula.  The kids get to kick back and watch a short video that follows Chaddder the Chipmunk through five days of Adventure.  The kids also learn a new bible verse each day and receive a Bible Buddy.  Lastly is snack, lead by Patti and team.  They prepare a yummy snack that ties into the days theme or lesson.  The kids also talk about what "Daily Challenges  they are going to do when they get home.

The morning ends back at the ranch where Jen leads them in a couple more songs and Dakota and Bucky come back to wrap up the morning. 

It was an amazing week where God showed up!  The kids learned so much about Jesus, they made new friends, and hopefully walked away a little changed for the better.  I was so blessed to have amazing crew leaders, behind the scenes help, center volunteers and leaders, and support and pray from so many people.  A special thanks to Lori and team who watched our babies, Christopher who showed up as Cookie the Cook, Michelle that helps keep me sane, and Lyndsay and team who lead the preschoolers through their very own VBS, and the Neighborhood Church for providing the location.  VBS is one of my favorite weeks of the year.  Even having a seven week old baby in tow I survived.  Here are a couple of pictures from the week.
