You've got to be kidding

If you don't know already I love reading blogs.  Since I love them so much I have felt the pressure to start my own and I did.  I am not the greatest blogger.  I just don't have a lot of time or energy lately.  Over the last couple of days I noticed, while reading other blogs, a game of tag happening.  At first I wondered why have I not been tagged then I felt relieved.  I don't have time for this game of tag...I am having a baby any moment now.  Last night, while reading blogs, I saw I had been tagged by my friend Beth.  Thanks Beth, don't you remember what it's like in those last couple of days.  It's not like I'm 5 centimeters and 70% effaced.  So I am going to give this a shot.  It won't have fancy pics or links.  Just the facts.  Here goes...

I love our Life Group!

Sometimes we start to take things for granted when it has been a part of our life for awhile.  This last week I have been reminded how lucky I am to have such an amazing Life Group.  It all started on Sunday when Dave used our Life Group as an example for his Sunday morning teaching. 

A couple of months back our life group threw a wedding for two members of our group, Carlos and Michele.  It was an amazing experience for me to see a group of men, women, and even some of our kids put their time, finances, and love all together to create a unforgettable day for some friends.  Some people thought we were a bit crazy to take on something so big but it turned out to be one of the best experiences I have ever had.  I will never forget Carlo's reaction when he walked into the room we had decorated, his eyes filled with tears and he said, "This is more than I could ever have imagined."  The night turned out perfectly filled with a wonderful ceremony, lots of food, lots of dancing, and lots of love!

Then last night our Life Group threw us a surprise pot luck baby shower.  Yes, I know one more shower for little miss Emma.  It was so fun to see everyone arrive early carrying in yummy Mexican food.  Everyone was able to be there, even Carlos and Michele (they are on the Downey launch team), it was a crowded house.  They all bought Emma some fun books and baby things.  Darrenn got to open them up.  That was entertaining.  We ended the night with our favorite, highs and lows, and Darrenn doing a bit of the Life Group flow.  It was perfect. 

I want to say thank you to my amazing Life Group.  You have walked beside us for the last two years.  You have prayed for us, laughed with us, cried with us, and most importantly loved us.  I look forward to Wednesday nights and what God has in store for us.

Mini Panic Attack

Last night I started freaking out that I was going to have the baby very soon.  Now I know in all actuality I am having the baby soon...but not very soon.  In my mind I have until April 29th.  However many people in my life keep saying, "Any day now".  I wish they would stop.  I still have a lot to do.  Crafts to be prepped, baby essentials to be bought, bags to pack, car seat to be checked by the fire department, etc.  Also this week is just not good for Darrenn.  He has a big test on Saturday and he really needs to take it for his Masters degree.  So back to my mini panic attack.  After sitting and watching some shows on my DVR I started feeling really tight in my stomach, then I started feeling nauseous, then I started sweating, then I started throwing things in bags for the hospital.  I made Darrenn bring up the pack n play, I hand washed Emma's take home outfit, and started calling people to reassure me that I wasn't having the baby.  Luckily Nicol has learned to just agree with me so that phone call went smooth, Lori reassured me that she went through similar thoughts and didn't have her babies that night.  Finally I had to make sure that someone would pick up the messy unfinished pieces at work/church.  So I called Laura and made her promise she wouldn't be mad at me if I had to talk her through my scary office prepping crafts that are strewn everywhere.  Of course she said yes and told me to sit down and have some water.  I did what she said while watching Dancing with the Stars.  I felt better after that and went to bed.  So thank you to all that listened to my ramblings last night.  Pray that little miss Emma continues to bake at least another 7 days.  I am going to the doctor in less than an hour.  Hopefully she will agree with me.

Emma's Room

Aunt Michelle came over tonight to start painting the details in Emma's room.  The room already made me happy when I walked in and saw the new floors, pink walls, pink chandeliers, and dresser.  But tonight my smile got a little bigger!  Michelle painted the black swirls to make the room perfect.  I am so jealous of her and all of her talents.  I sat on the ground and tried to put together a bouncy chair while she painted.  Of course I messed it up a bit.  Thank goodness Darrenn came to the rescue.  I can't wait to see what it will look like when she is done.  Here are a couple of preview pictures.

Revolution Baby Shower

On Saturday, March 17th, Lyndsay, Laura, Lori, and Nicol threw an amazing baby shower for Emma and I.  I feel so blessed to have such special friends in my life.  The theme was black and pink, to match Emma's room.  There was very yummy food, cute decorations, lot's of presents, and of course, cupcakes.  It was very nice to get to visit with women from Revolution who I usually only get to scurry by with a smile on Sunday mornings.  I felt very spoiled by all the attention and hard work.   I received my much coveted Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag, some amazing handmade blankets and burp cloths, a diaper cake, too many cute outfits, and much more.  Everyone left with embellished votive candle and holder.  I have been looking forward to this day for so long.  Part of me was sad when it was all over but I was overwhelmed with all the details, thought, and love that went into such an amazing day.
