Aunts

My sister Carrie just had twins.  Julia and Natalie are her and my brother in laws first babies.  I am so excited on so many levels for them.  I am also excited for my family because Emma and baby Noona will have cousins that are close in age with them. 

I have amazing nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Madison, Connor, Emily, Eli and Zoe fill my heart with so much joy and make me so proud.  I always couldn't wait to be an aunt because I had some of the most amazing examples. 

Growing up my extended family had a huge part of my life.  My aunts taught me how to shop for a good deal, taught me how to play poker, let me watch music videos that my parents might not have let me watch, talked about boys with me late into the night, took us to the drive in, lagoon, and so much more.  They always knew the perfect gift that I wanted for my birthday.  I always knew they loved me so much!

As I got older and life "things" happen I didn't have my aunts in my life as much.  As hard as those life transitions are I always remembered when my Aunt Karol had my sister and I over to watch the premiere of Thriller.  My Aunt Blanche taking me to get my first piece of Guess clothing and my Aunt Joy being super silly with us. 

I hope that one day my nieces and nephews will be able to say I was a great aunt that had fun with them.  But most of all I hope they will always know that I loved them like they were my own because that's what I can say about my aunts. 

So not ready

The newest member of the Platt family is arriving very soon, April 19ish.  We are so not ready.  He doesn't have a room yet, limited clothing, or a name. 

He does have a family that is very excited for his arrival.  Emma has named him Noona.  As much as we love her we don't love the name she has chosen.  However neither Darrenn or I have any suggestions.  So we need your help or this baby is going to be named Noona. 

Here are the rules:  Must be at least two syllables and cannot start with a D

I'm Back

I got an email from typepad that my credit card expired that is linked to my blog.  I finally updated it, so watch out a flood of new entries are swimming around in my head.  Let's see if I actually type and post them.
